Roman Catholicism certainly exalts Mary to a large extent and makes it so that puts it at the level of the same creator: God. Of course the Catholics deny that Mary is a goddess and claim that this is only appropriate honor because of what she has to offer, and that this honor may then be given due to her outstanding attributes offered by the statement Sacred Tradition. But Mary is right to endorse things that are only attributed to God, as she atoned for the sins of humankind (1), that frees the soul from death (2), and simultaneously listen to thousands of people praying for her in different languages in all the world (3)? Without a single shred of Biblical evidence to support these and other things said to Mary, we must conclude that Roman Catholicism has gone beyond what the Word of God reveals (1 Cor 4:6) and has violated even Scripture itself .
This is the reason why Protestants equate the exaltation of Mary by the Roman Catholicism as idolatry. Protestants argue that you should only receive all glory, honor and worship and that he alone carried out the work of atonement, that only God delivers our souls from death and is the only one who has the ability to simultaneously listen to the prayers of His redeemed around the world in their own languages. Still, the Roman Catholic claim that they are committing idolatry but are giving proper honor Mary, an honor that is derived not from the Word of God but of the Holy Tradition of Roman Catholicism. So what is it? "Raise Mary Roman Catholicism at the same level of God, or just doing it to give more than a high honor?
